Favorite Internet Teaching Resource Site

After viewing many different internet sites I came across one lesson plan website called PBS Kids the most helpful for me to use in my classroom. It is very well organized and made it fairly easy to find my students' grade level and subject, which for my students, is math. The math lesson plans are put in order from easiest to hardest, making it easier to know which one to do first. I like some of the lesson plans for math better than in other websites because they are more creative. For example, one idea I found to be useful to me was to Set up a Shop because I think the students would enjoy and learn from it.

Week 4

Putting off a task and doing it at the last moment can be very stressful. Especially when it is something important for school, like filing my tub. This week went by fast and before I knew it it was time to turn in my filing tub for grading and I wasn't finished. Procrastination is nothing but hanging on to an unfinished task, making it only harder for you to complete it. Why wait to do something, when you can do it today? The sooner you start something the sooner you will complete it. Procrastination inhibits you from performing to your fullest potential and as a teacher it is important to always be on your full potential. There is always a time for everything, so get started!

Week 3

This week at my field site I finally got some more time with my students. Mrs. Prince, my mentor teacher, let me help out three students that were having a hard time in math. I had them sitting on a separate table apart from the others so they had no distractions and I sat in front of them. For the first time I felt like a teacher. It was more difficult than I thought it would be but I enjoyed helping them. I myself learned how to talk to them in a way that would make it easier to understand the lesson. I liked having a little more control of what I wanted to teach them. It was a leadership opportunity I am glad my mentor teacher gave me.
